Trados
onlinter uses the cutting-edge translation memory system SDL TRADOS Studio 2011 to improve quality, speed up the translation process and ensure terminological consistency. By creating customer specific translation memories and terminology databases as well as integrating the existing ones we are able to best use the state-of-the art translation tool to streamline our processes. With this CAT-tool we infuse our services with just the right complement of technology.
How does it work? As the translator progresses through a document, TRADOS builds a database which stores all translated sentences together with the respective source sentences. This database technology enables the program to provide the translator with suggested translations based on the existing ones. Every confirmed sentence is automatically added to the Translation Memory (TM). If the same sentence appears later in the current or in a subsequent document - TRADOS automatically suggests the previous translation, thus ensuring maximum consistency.
Terminology management systems are applications which serve to increase the translation quality. TRADOS MultiTerm, a multiple-language, term-oriented terminology system, saves glossaries in a flexible terminology database format. It also enables the translator to enter additional information for each individual entry or create new entries on the fly.
